Our Program

Due to overwhelming interest in our program this season, 1st-4th grade Cheer has reached capacity and we are no longer accepting registration for those age groups.

***Please note that 1st-2nd grade children from Montvale and Woodcliff Lake will participate with the Montvale Athletic League for the Flag Cheer Program based in Montvale. Please register through their website.***

Participation in Hawks Cheer provides children with an opportunity to perform in an organized, supervised, safety-oriented environment. Our program emphasizes FUN for all and encourages the development of qualities that will continue to be important long after children graduate from our program.

The Hawks Cheer Program is open to Hillsdale residents entering 1st-8th grade. We continue to welcome children in 3rd-8th grades from Montvale and Woodcliff Lake to our Pee Wee, Junior and Senior Teams!

All parents and cheerleaders should familiarize themselves with the 2024 Cheer Expectations.

Schedule, Time Commitment & Absences

It is extremely important that both cheerleaders and parents understand the amount of time and personal commitment that is expected. Practices and games should be considered mandatory. Summer training dates are mandatory for all cheerleaders in order to fully participate in the half time routine:
August 12-15, 2024
5:00 - 8:00pm

Practices will be held 2x per week (usually Tuesdays and Thursdays 5-6pm at Memorial Field in Hillsdale; subject to change) beginning the week of 8/19/24. Games will take place each Saturday, beginning September 7th through November.

If you must be absent from a practice or game due to illness, school or religious reasons, you are to notify your Team Coach directly and promptly. Safety is our number one considerationEach squad performs as a team – not as individuals. All cheerleaders are placed in a stunt group and if one girl is absent, the entire stunt group cannot practice.

Under no circumstances will a participant be allowed to participate in practice or a game without the required uniform, adequate practice participation and/or physician clearance to return to participation after an illness or injury.

Parent Expectations

Please be cooperative and respectful of your coaches, both adult and student. All are volunteers! Parents, if you have concerns with any of your cheerleader’s coaches, please wait until after practice or game to address all concerns.  Please encourage your child to say thank you to their coaches at the end of practices and games.

Parents are asked to volunteer or help throughout the season. It is extremely important that you partake in volunteerism so that we can run a successful program without having to raise the registration fee. The current registration fee does not cover the entirety of the cheer’s operating budget.  We require fundraising in order to have a successful, fun season and to keep the program going year after year. Throughout the season, you will be asked to volunteer your time (snack stand, fundraisers, Beefsteak Dinner, etc.). We appreciate each family participating in some capacity at one or more of these events!
